The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization of Santa Clara County, leads, supports and guides people to join together to serve persons in need and to grow spiritually, in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and its patron, St. Vincent de Paul. Goals -To better serve those in need by supporting the development and growth of St. Vincent de Paul conferences in Santa Clara County -To support and/or enhance their service to the needy by undertaking and operating business ventures which are guided by Catholic social teaching. -To facilitate the work of Conferences, services and business operations by maintaining and developing supportive organizational structures.

Day Worker Program, provides linkages for low-income, mostly immigrant men to find temporary work. Emergency Services, performed by an all volunteer group within the parish churches, provides financial assistance such as rent, utlities, food, and other basic needs. In-Kind Distribution, provides free clothing, furniture, automobiles, household items and other basic necessities. Vocation Mentoring, helps people acclimate to the job market by providing a long-term mentor volunteer.

Since 1986, they have provided women and children with a hospitable place to receive nutritious food and needed clothing. Since their inception, they have expanded their basic services to include housing, education, an annual Christmas toy giveaway, and most recently, a 3000 square foot community garden.

Hope 4 the Heart is a non-profit food bank located in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are an all-volunteer organization, and their mission is to improve the well-being every family they serve by alleviating hunger and improving nutrition. They believe that no one should go hungry in their food-rich nation, and they assist those in their community who need a helping hand.

The third Saturday of every month, Hope 4 the Heart opens its doors to local families in need of food. Every food box contains product for the month, along with fresh produce purchased with a grant from FEMA, diapers and formula for families with infants, and other items that families need.  Every month, approximately 450 boxes are prepared, and still they run out of boxes. With the new warehouse, they plan to be able to serve more families who need help.
